Hannah and Chris’ May wedding was a beautiful, elegant affair at the stunning Derbyshire wedding venue, The West Mill. With a rustic, industrial vibe set over multiple floors The West Mill offers stunning views of the river Derwent. It always exciting to work at The West Mill as the options to create exquisite flowers are endless.

Using British grown seasonal flowers, Hannah’s flower heavy bouquet featured May’s finest flowers. Filled to brim with fluffy white peonies, sweet peas, white avalanche roses and the very last of the season ranunculus. We included oodles of textured eucalyptus, fern, olive and thistles. While her bridesmaids held foliage only bouquets, creating a beautiful contrast between the two.

I always adore the simplicity of a white and green wedding. It’s a timeless combination that exudes elegance. It always key to includes different tones of greenery when working with a white and green colour palette as it lifts and softens the cool white tones of the flowers.

For the ceremony we create a hanging installation for Hannah and Chris, featuring delphiniums, stocks, roses and lisianthus which hung beautifully on the top floor of The West Mill. And who wouldn’t want to be surrounded by flowers on their wedding day.

After the ceremony we were able to repurpose the installation and move it down to the wedding breakfast, placing it behind the top table. Creating a floral focal point for guests to enjoy and those picture-perfect moments for speeches. I always try and recommend options to my couples on how they can get the very most out of their flowers on their Wedding Day. Whether that’s repurposing flowers after the ceremony or having multiple uses for them.

Complementing the installation, foliage runners intertwined around white avalanche roses were placed down the long rustic trestle tables. Hannah had sourced elegant silver candlesticks creating the most romantic, candlelit celebration.
